From the Lexington Minuteman: December 15, 2011
I’m so pleased that Jessie Steigerwald has decided to run for reelection to the Lexington School Committee. I have had the great pleasure to work with her on numerous endeavors in our town and have followed her first term on the School Committee. She is a singular individual and we are fortunate that she represents us.
First, Jessie is an advocate for every member of our community; she gives us a voice. This ranges from studying the best high school start time to ensuring that the public is heard when they come to speak before the School Committee. She’s not afraid to stand alone when she feels that she is doing the right thing for our students, our schools, and our town.
Next, Jessie is an extraordinary communicator; she takes the time to listen to our concerns. Almost daily in Town Center, you’ll see her meeting with members of the community. If you have ever contacted her directly, you have received a response from her. However, Jessie doesn’t simply listen. She follows through and makes sure that concerns are addressed, questions are answered, and solutions are found.
Last, Jessie is probably the most creative thinker with whom I have ever worked. She sees challenges as an opportunity to try something new. Further, she has the unique ability to work cooperatively as she tirelessly makes those ideas a reality. We need this.
Jessie is an advocate, communicator, and creative thinker. What’s more, this capable woman is genuine and hard working. I am pleased to have an individual of her caliber represent me. Please join me in my support of Jessie Steigerwald as she runs for reelection to the Lexington School Committee. – Tanya Morrisett, Valleyfield Road
