Re-elect Jessie Steigerwald

From the Lexington Minuteman:  December 22, 2012

I’d seen and heard Jessie Steigerwald’s name around town for awhile.  But it was not in the cards for our paths to cross…until this past summer.  Our children were all involved with the Lexington Youth Summer Theatre (LYST) production of Bye Bye Birdie.  And since LYST is a parent co-operative, we found ourselves closely working together for approximately ten weeks.

Being a member of the LYST Board for years, I’ve organized and collaborated with a lot of parents.  And I must say, Jessie is one of the hardest working parents I’ve had the pleasure to team up with during our summer musical.  She came onboard to help out with the play’s costumes, and even though she was new to the program, she was committed from the get-go.  She has wonderful social and communication skills which allowed her to work well with the directors, the parents, and the kids.  Jessie was so devoted to our project that she and her husband even donated their backyard and basement for the building and painting of our sets!  She could always be counted on to not only complete her costume work, but then also lend a hand to others.  And always with a smile.

I’m glad to have her as a friend, and I have the utmost faith in her to continue to be a fair and accountable member of the School Committee.  She’ll stay focused on doing the right thing for our town’s students and schools.  Please join me and vote for Jessie Steigerwald for re-election to the School Committee on March 6.  I know we can count on her. — Scott Bokun, Middleby Road
