Re-elect Jessie Steigerwald

From the Lexington Minuteman:  January 5, 2012

We are writing to urge you to join us in voting for Jessie Steigerwald for school committee.
Our family first got to know Jessie when she and her husband, Matt coached our daughter’s Destination Imagination team.  Due in part to Jessie’s dedication, there are now several DI teams at Diamond and many new elementary school teams.  Jessie also runs an early morning Friday DI meeting at Diamond where anyone can participate, whether on a team or not, and learn some of the skills that the team members are acquiring.  Jessie’s enthusiasm for the DI program is just one example of her selfless dedication to Lexington’s young people and her passion for creative thinking.
Lexington needs dedicated individuals on our School Committee who bring creative thinking, passion for young people, experienced leadership, a desire to include and the ability to assimilate the many different perspectives which are represented on any given issue.   Additionally, Jessie has consistently advocated for increased transparency and community input on school committee policy matters.
Finally, as is consistent with the culture of continuous improvement within our schools, we have heard Jessie ask many times for feedback on how she can be a better school committee member.  This, too, is an important quality in any elected official – to be open to improvement, change and differing opinions.  Jessie has these abilities.  We urge you to join us in voting to re-elect Jessie Steigerwald to the Lexington School Committee.— Kamala Soparkar and Jim Courtemanche, 88 Winter Street
